Rabbit grooming is an essential part of owning a pet rabbit whether the rabbit is a short haired English Lop to a longhaired Angora or a Lionhead rabbit from de shedding to trimming, clipping to prevent matting.

Rabbit grooming is a skilled practise as its crucial to emphasize the gentle approach due to the thin rabbit skin. Prevention through regular brushing and a proper diet is indeed key.

Clipping the nails regularly will promote good growth and help to keep the nails from not curling round at Elite Pet Grooming this would be part of a full groom including the de-shed but if only the nails need attention we also offer appointments for just a nail clip.

Bathing is not advisable due to being extremely stressful to the rabbit with the fur being very dense it is very hard to thoroughly dry which could cause hypothermia.

Prevention is better than clipping when the fur is matted starting early with a good small soft slicker brush and metal comb.
